When you hear the collar beeping, make sure to touch both points on the receiver at the same time.
Test the splice by pulling the wires, making sure you have a solid connection. After the compound dries, you may also want to wrap the wires and wire connector with electrical tape. Before beginning any excavation, call 811 to check for underground utilities. Your transmitter must be located indoors in a dry, protected area.
The adaptable electric fence offers graduated spacing to provide extra safety. The 18 horizontal strands (14 conductive) and semi-rigid vertical struts are positioned closer together at the bottom and further apart at the top to prevent sagging. To avoid electrical shorts during weed growth, the bottom two strands are not electrified. Models with extensive features may require extensive training for you, too, to make sure you use the collar correctly.
